Carabobo state stands out as one of the most economically important. This region is the main seaport of Venezuela and 70% of its manufacturing industry. Located in north central Mexico, bordered on the north by the Caribbean Sea, east of the state of Aragua, the state Yaracuy west and south with Guarico and Cojedes.





It has a population of approximately 2,106,264 inhabitants and has 4,650 km2, making it the third state with the lowest surface Venezuela. Among the main industrial activities include: the assembly of vehicles, the engineering industry, chemicals and petrochemicals, manufacturing of paper and alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. Valencia, capital, enjoys a good civic organization and is a model of urban development, including road infrastructure.




Carabobo state is characterized by both its rich historical traditions, and tying for the beauty of its landscapes. Those aspects that make it an excellent tourist destination. The name of this state pays homage to the famous battle being waged in the so-called Carabobo field, which in turn owe their name to a creek in the area. On June 24, 1821 the patriot army under the command of Simon Bolivar defeated the royalists in the fields of Carabobo, thus sealing the Independence of Venezuela.



The indigenous voice "Carabobo" means a short trunk palm whose leaves are used to make hats.



STATE BEACHES

Compared with other coastal states in the country, Carabobo not offer a large number of beaches, as only just over 73 km of coastline. However, its magnificent landscapes, crystal waters and white sand are a great option for vacationers. Although the city of Puerto Cabello several urban beaches get very crowded on weekends, it is best to leave the city, then to the east are the most beautiful beaches in the state. STICK BEACH

The beach is protected by a reef and special offers as a beautiful turquoise lagoon of salt water, excellent for snorkeling.



SAN ESTEBAN NATIONAL PARK

The main entrance of this park located in the western section of the Serrania del Litoral, between Valencia and Puerto Cabello, is the road that passes through the viewpoint of Solano, in Puerto Cabello. With an area of 44,050 hectares, was declared a National Park in 1987. Its highest point is Mount Villalonga, to 1,830 meters. San Esteban has large and contrasting attractions: mountain forests, warm beaches, cloud forests, islands with crystal clear water, witnesses petroglyphs of ancient cultures and the Spanish Bridge, built in 1807 and symbol of the park. En route are centuries old mansions reminiscent of the prosperous era of cocoa. Among the historic sites to visit are Rincon Hondo, two hours of walking through the forest, the Spanish Road, which leads to Valencia after passing the peak of St. Jean, and the St. Stephen with its wells jumps.



LONG ISLAND

Long Island, which along with Mouse Island, Alcatraz and Santo Domingo belongs to the San Esteban National Park, is the most developed tourist. This island has become the main area for its beautiful beaches and warm clear waters and shallow, ideal for snorkeling and diving. THE SESOSTRIS

In Long Island you can see the remains of Sesostris, a German merchant ship whose history is very particular.



Upon the declaration of World War II some merchant ships were in the Caribbean Sea could not return to their countries. Seven Italian and German ships took refuge in Venezuela (including the Sesostri) and anchored in Puerto Cabello.



When in 1941 Roosevelt, U.S. president, ordered to seize all vessels in these circumstances, the captains were instructed not to allow it and decided to burn their ships. Ships on our shores were burned refloated and sold to foreign nations, but could not be rebuilt Sasostris and decided to take his remains to Long Island.

PLAYA PALMA SOLA
